Preserving Prospect Hill:
Get Your Hands on Some History!

Prospect Hill Cemetery invites you to join our dedicated preservation team! Help us protect Omaha’s heritage, restore historic monuments, and preserve the memory of those resting here.

What We Provide

  • Expert training and supervision

  • All necessary preservation tools and materials

  • Friendly, supportive team environment

Volunteer Requirements

  • Work gloves (strongly recommended)

  • Safety glasses & face mask or respirator (recommended; used periodically)

  • Steel-toed footwear
    can often be purchased inexpensively from local retailers or online. Volunteers without steel-toed footwear are still welcome and can assist with other preservation activities.

    ALL volunteers are welcome.

Donate

Help preserve the historic monuments, markers, and memorials at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Every donation helps expand ongoing preservation efforts and protect Omaha's history for future generations.

Donations support monument preservation and related preservation activities at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Funds may also be applied to long-term preservation, endowment, or perpetual care efforts as determined by current preservation priorities.

Join our dedicated team of volunteers as we protect and restore Prospect Hill’s historic grave markers and monuments. No experience needed—just a willingness to help preserve Omaha’s history!

Join us for a general preservation workday at Prospect Hill Cemetery. If military-issued grave markers have arrived, we will install them on veterans’ graves. Otherwise, volunteers may assist with cleaning grave markers, resetting fallen or damaged markers, and helping with other ongoing preservation projects throughout the cemetery.

August 22, 2026 9:00 AM

Join us for a general preservation workday at Prospect Hill Cemetery. If military-issued grave markers have arrived, we will install them on veterans’ graves. Otherwise, volunteers may assist with cleaning grave markers, resetting fallen or damaged markers, and helping with other ongoing preservation projects throughout the cemetery.
